June 12, 2020{Birmingham, Ala., June 9, 2020} – If you know Michael Connolly, Managing Partner of Atlas Digital Partners, you quickly realize that Michael is passionate about building companies and developing people.
He also recognizes the importance of bringing national talent to Birmingham. Despite many companies axing their internship programs in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Connolly stayed committed to his mission by expanding the 2020 Summer Atlas Internship Program.
He selected twelve undergraduates from the country’s leading liberal arts colleges such as Williams College, Amherst College, Colby College, Bowdoin College, and the city’s own Birmingham-Southern College. The interns represent their respective institutions as well as their hometowns, which range from Northern California to Birmingham and Lagos to Beijing.

The eight-week internship will allow the students to gain hands-on experience working in digital start-up ventures, while also attending seminars on entrepreneurial leadership hosted by Connolly.

Intern Biographies
Daniel Bennett – Canton, Ga.
Birmingham-Southern College Senior
Daniel is pursuing a BS in Business Administration at Birmingham-Southern College. In 2020, he started his own small business on campus named Midnight Delights Cookie Co., where he acted as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Joseph Copeland – Birmingham, Ala.
Bowdoin College Senior
Joseph is pursuing a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies at Bowdoin College where he volunteers as a trip leader for the Bowdoin Outing Club and gives weekly tour guides for Bowdoin College Admissions.
John Paul Dobbs – Florence, Ala.
Birmingham-Southern College Senior
John Paul is pursuing a BA in Business Administration at Birmingham-Southern College and pitches for the Men’s Baseball team. He was inducted into the Order of Omega Honor Society in 2019.
George Eisenhauer – Beverley Shores, Ind.
Colby College Junior
George is pursuing a double major BA in Government and Science, Technology, and Society (STS). He plays both football and lacrosse for Colby. In addition to his double major, he is taking a minor in East Asian Studies.
Misa Fujii – Mountain View, Calif.
Birmingham-Southern College Senior
Misa is pursuing a BS in Computer Science at Birmingham-Southern College and knows a variety of computer languages such as Python, C++, Java, HTML, and others. At BSC she plays point guard on the Women’s Basketball team and works as a volunteer for Special Olympics Alabama.
Michael Greer – Memphis, Tenn.
Birmingham-Southern College Senior
Michael is pursuing a BS in Business Administration at Birmingham-Southern College while also taking a distinction in Leadership Studies. He plays defense on the Men’s Lacrosse team. In 2019, he was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies.
Preston Jenkins – Roswell, Ga.
Birmingham-Southern College Senior
Preston is pursuing a BS in Business Administration at Birmingham-Southern College. He pitches for the Men’s Baseball team and volunteers for the Birmingham-Southern Game Day Crew to support his fellow student-athletes.
Connor Kucharski – Solon, Ohio
Williams College Junior
Connor is pursuing a BA in Economics and Biology at Williams College where he serves as a student leader for the Ephs Leadership Academy. He also plays defense on the Men’s Ice Hockey team and studied abroad at the London School of Economics in 2019.
Iris Liu – Beijing, China
Colby College Junior
Iris is pursuing a BA in Computer Science and Mathematics at Colby College where she serves as a community advisor for the college’s Campus Life department. She knows how to code in several different languages such as Python, Java, and C++ and has prior experience working in data analytics.
Terri Nwanma – Lagos, Nigeria
Colby College Junior
Terri is pursuing a BA in Economics and Psychology at Colby College and serves as treasurer for the African Society, event coordinator for the Women of Color Alliance, communication chair for the Feminist Alliance, and inclusion fellow for the Colby Pugh Center for Student Diversity. She also writes for the Outside Colby Newspaper.
Dawson Pfost – Woodstock, Ga.
Birmingham-Southern College Senior
Dawson is pursuing a BS in Business Administration at Birmingham-Southern College and owns a pressure washing company named PK Pressure Washing that he started in 2018. He is also a member of the Men’s Baseball team and the Hilltop Management Group, a market research club run by Dr. Sara Robicheaux.
Stephen Rex – Pittsburgh, Pa.
Junior Amherst College
Stephen is pursuing a BA in Economics at Amherst College where he plays for the Men’s Ice Hockey team. He also participates in the Amherst College Investment Club, a student organization that locates profitable investments for the college. Before college, he played a year of junior hockey for the Amarillo Bulls.
